A former governor of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke, says the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will raise a new generation of leaders in Cross River State.
He disclosed this in Calabar during a meeting of all coalition groups in the state ahead of the formal launching of the ADC in Cross River.
Imoke, who is the leader of the party in the state, said the new party will shake the political landscape of the state come 2027.
“We are looking for a new generation of leaders for Cross River State made up of young people that have the capacity and resourcefulness to provide new leadership.

“What we are building is a revolutionary movement starting from the grassroots where we the elders will be the advisers and the younger ones will drive the vision for Cross River State,” Imoke said.
He said the ADC is catching fire both at the state and national levels because opposition parties have been infiltrated in the country.
He also disclosed that the people cannot be facing the kind of suffering today and allow a dictatorship to emerge, saying this underscores the reason for stakeholders coming together under the ADC.
He said the ADC plans to open offices across all the 196 political wards in Cross River State and everyone is starting from scratch because they are all equal owners.
National Vice Chairman South-South of the ADC, Usani Uguru Usani, said the ADC will provide an alternative and a platform for the younger generation to run the affairs of not just the state but Nigeria.
