ADC warns members against internal bickering, urges unity

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has cautioned its members against using party platforms to insult or undermine leaders, emphasising the need for unity as the party prepares for the 2027 general election.

National Vice Chairman,South East of the party, Bon Unachukwu who cautioned the members in a statement he made available to journalists in Owerri on Friday noted that although the party acknowledged robust debate and political participation but warned against actions that could create division or distract from the collective mission .

The ADC emphasised that supporting a particular individual for the party’s flag is legitimate, but such preferences he said should not fuel internal discord. “The party’s objective is to win the general election and offer Nigerians a credible alternative founded on good governance, inclusiveness, and accountability.

The warning has also comes amid tensions within the party, with some members expressing concerns over the party’s direction and leadership.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has also urged ADC supporters to stop attacking Peter Obi, saying such attacks undermine opposition unity and benefit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) .
