From Abdulrazaq Mungadi, Gombe
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed claims of internal divisions in Gombe State, insisting that the party remains united and fully aligned with its national leadership as it intensifies preparations ahead of future elections.
A leading member of the party in the state, Muhammad Jibrin Barde (Dan Barde), stated this during an interaction with journalists in Gombe, stressing that there is no known factional structure within the ADC in the state. According to him, party members across the wards and local government areas are working in synergy to strengthen the party’s presence and expand its grassroots support.
Barde said the party’s leadership and members in Gombe are collectively committed to the ADC’s core objective of building an alternative political platform driven by internal democracy and inclusive participation. He emphasized that the party’s operational model, which prioritizes “one man, one vote” and rejects imposition, has helped to maintain cohesion and discipline among members.
He noted that the ongoing membership revalidation and mobilization exercise has further reinforced unity within the party, as members across the state are actively engaging at the unit and ward levels to align with the national timetable of activities. The exercise, he added, has provided an opportunity to consolidate existing structures while onboarding new members without internal friction.

Reacting to speculations of discord, Barde maintained that the ADC in Gombe has not recorded any parallel leadership or conflicting tendencies, describing such reports as unfounded and detached from realities on the ground. He said the party’s internal processes are transparent and participatory, which has minimized disputes often associated with party organization.
Barde also linked the party’s cohesion to growing public dissatisfaction with prevailing socio-economic challenges, arguing that the shared focus on addressing insecurity, economic hardship, and deteriorating public services has unified members around a common purpose.
He assured supporters that ADC in Gombe would remain focused on constructive engagement and grassroots organization rather than internal power struggles, adding that the party is positioning itself as a credible and stable platform for citizens seeking political change.
