The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Southeast Zone has denied allegations that it plans to dissolve state and local government executives, labeling the claim as “malicious, fraudulent, and laughably concocted”.

In a statement signed by the National Vice Chairman, Southeast, Bon Unachukwu, the party described the publication as a fabrication aimed at destabilising the party and sowing discord.

The statement read: “There is no Zonal Membership Mobilisation, Registration and Revalidation Committee (MMRR) in the party, and any claim of such is false”.

The ADC emphasised that no zonal executive committee has the power to dissolve duly constituted state or local government party structures, and the claims are “null, void, and of no consequence”.

The party also clarified that the Southeast stakeholders’ meeting in Enugu did not discuss dissolving party structures, but rather focused on withdrawing intra-party litigations.

The ADC has warned against the spread of “reckless disinformation” and urged party members and the public to disregard the fake publication.
