Renowned security expert and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ondo State, Hon Steve Amuda, has declared that the current level of insecurity in the state requires the joint efforts of both the federal and state governments to end.
The ADC leader, who recently declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives election in Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency of the state under the platform of the ADC, stressed the need for collaborative efforts between the state and federal governments to win the battle against insecurity.
Amuda said he is prepared to join hands with other leaders in the state to fight insecurity, saying that kidnapping, killings and other vices in the state are battles that can be won if properly confronted.
He pledged an unwavering dedication to addressing the constituency’s core challenges through ideologically driven and people-centred representation.
He said his conviction to contest the election was born out of his desire to serve the people of his constituency and provide solutions to the challenges confronting them.

“Politics must move beyond temporary handouts to deliver real solutions. For too long, our people have endured poor roads, rising unemployment, insecurity, weak healthcare and exclusionary governance. If elected, I will champion transformative reforms to build a safe, prosperous, and inclusive Akoko,” Amuda declared.
Highlighting harsh realities such as dangerous roads from Ikare to Erusu, Ikaram, Ajowa and Akunu, which expose the communities to kidnapping; youth desperation amid poverty; and overstretched healthcare and education, Amuda outlined his agenda, which focuses on security, social cohesion and rule of law; transparent governance and effective service delivery; education, healthcare and social protection; infrastructure, jobs and local economic growth; and agriculture and rural prosperity.
Amuda, who currently serves as Regional Coordinator on Peace Building for the Centre for Democracy and Development (West Africa) in North East Nigeria, said he is determined to develop his constituency through effective representation.
“I promised broad consultations, representation over rulership, problem-solving laws and full accountability,” he affirmed.
He maintained that his passion to develop the constituency and ensure a great future for the youths are the basis for his involvement in politics.
He assured that all stakeholders in the constituency will be carried along in the day-to-day activities of his constituency office, calling on the people of the constituency to support him.
