The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 25-year-old Suleiman Mahmud while transporting illicit substances to the Cameroon Republic.

Command spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje disclosed this in a Monday statement.

Nguroje disclosed that at about 11:45 pm on April 19, operatives of the command acting on credible intelligence carried out a coordinated operation targeting criminal hideouts within Girei and its environs.

“The operation led to the successful arrest of one Suleiman Mahmud, a 25-year-old resident of Wuro-Jabbe, Yola South Local Government Area.

“The suspect was intercepted while transporting illicit substances to the Cameroon Republic,” the statement reads in part.

According to the police, items recovered from the suspect’s possession include .

“The suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation,” the police stated.
