Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Bayelsa State Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who passed away after a brief illness at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa.

In a condolence message issued on Thursday, Governor Fintiri said he received the news of the Deputy Governor’s passing with shock and sadness, describing Ewhrudjakpo as “a remarkable leader who embodied trust, integrity and dedication”.

The Governor extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, the government and people of Bayelsa State, and particularly to Governor Douye Diri, noting that the late Senator’s contributions to public service were both impactful and inspiring.

Governor Fintiri highlighted Ewhrudjakpo’s courage, determination and passion for the development of Bayelsa State, stressing that his efforts in governance would be remembered for generations.

“His tireless commitment to the progress of his state will be deeply missed, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations,” Fintiri said.

He prayed for comfort for the grieving family and for the repose of the Deputy Governor’s soul, adding: “May his memory be a blessing to the people of Bayelsa State and Nigeria, and may his contributions to nation-building continue to inspire us all.”
