The Kenneth Udeze-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the Action Alliance (AA) has protested the exclusion of its candidates for the 2027 elections from the list of candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Udeze, in a statement on Sunday, said the exclusion of the party’s candidates by the electoral umpire is not only an affront to the AA but also allegedly an attack on the rule of law and internal party democracy.
He noted that INEC is aware of the decision of the Court of Appeal affirming him as the rightful leader of the party, stating that disregarding the list submitted by his leadership amounts to disobedience of the court.
According to him, “Section 29 of the Electoral Act mandates INEC to publish names of candidates nominated by political parties. The candidates of AA under Chief Udeze’s leadership were duly nominated and elected during party primaries within time and in accordance with the law.

“This is the level to which INEC has now reduced Action Alliance and indeed Nigeria’s democracy – to ignore court judgments and act with impunity. This cannot stand.
“We hereby demand that INEC immediately withdraw the illegal publication and publish the correct list reflecting candidates nominated by the Action Alliance under Chief Barr. Kenneth Udeze within 48 hours.
“Failure to do so will leave us with no option but to activate all available legal remedies, including contempt proceedings, to protect the rights of our party, our candidates, and the millions of Nigerians who believe in the AA ideology.”
