The national leadership of the Action Alliance (AA) has approved the appointment of Prof. Tunde Adebola as the new chairman of the party in Ogun State.

The party in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Olu Omotoso said the appointment of Prof Adebola was in line with the constitution of the party.

To this end, the party has directed the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) to immediately cease to recognize the ousted chairman of the party in the state, Mr. Abayomi Sanyaolu.

The party declared that Sanyaolu does not represent the party again, saying that any dealing with Sanyaolu in the capacity of the state chairman of Action Alliance is legally invalid and contrary to the party’s constitution.

Citing judgments of different courts including the Federal High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, the party said that Sanyaolu is no longer the party chairman in the state.

Also, the party clarified that Mr. Kenneth Udeze, its former National Chairman who allegedly appointed Sanyaolu has been suspended and expelled from the party and thus has no authority to make appointments on behalf of AA.

“OGSIEC has been directed to recognize Professor Tunde Adebola as the legitimate Chairman and Pastor Taiwo Ademola as the State Secretary of Action Alliance in Ogun State. The party emphasizes that Sanyaolu holds no official position within its Ogun State chapter,” the statement added.
