Achoja urges stricter regulation of Lagos yellow buses

The Chief Executive Officer of Global Mondiloh Ltd., Monday Achoja Oghenechovwe, has urged the Lagos State Government to introduce stricter regulations on the operations of yellow buses, popularly called “danfos.”

In a statement, Achoja noted that the haphazard activities of the buses, especially their habit of picking up passengers from the roadside, were fueling traffic congestion and endangering the safety of commuters.

He stressed the need for the government to enforce the use of designated bus stops and terminals, as well as conduct thorough background checks on those managing the vehicles.

“The love of money should not supersede the safety and well-being of Lagos residents. It is time for the government to prioritize the welfare of its citizens and take concrete steps to address this pressing issue,” the statement read.

Achoja further emphasized that effective regulation of yellow buses would not only reduce gridlocks but also enhance the quality of life in Lagos.
