Chief Emeka Akajiugo Obegolu, the new President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), has that said his administration would focus on improving the organisation’s value proposition, expanding market opportunities and promoting ease of doing business in the country.
Obegolu also vowed to facilitate infrastructural development, Legislative and Policy advocacy as well as repositioning the ACCI brand, among others.
The ACCI’s latest President made the pledges while delivering his inaugural speech as the organisation’s 33rd General Annual Meeting on Thursday in Abuja.
Obegolu was elected as the 12th president of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), to replace Dr Al-Mujtaba Abubaka.
Agabaidu Chukwuemeka Jideani is the new Director General, while Prof Adesoji Adesugba climbed the ladder to become the 1st Deputy President and Dr Aliyu Idi Hong, the 2nd Deputy President of ACCI.
Obegolu appealed for members’ support to steer ACCI towards a future brimming with accomplishments, recognition, and shared prosperity.
The president noted that; “our journey ahead is one of growth, collaboration, and attainment. Abuja Chamber of Commerce’s best days are yet to come, and with our concerted efforts and unwavering commitment, we will inscribe a new chapter of success, recognition, and prosperity for our members and the entire business community.”
He said that for over 37 years, the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry had been a pillar of economic growth, a hub for trade facilitation, and an advocate for its members, noting that its commitment to excellence and service has led to setting unparalleled benchmarks within the industry.
“We have played a pivotal role in promoting trade and facilitating business partnerships. Our trade missions, exhibitions, and business matchmaking events have connected our members with local and international counterparts, expanding their reach and contributing to the economic development of our region and our nation.
“As we stand at this juncture, let us unite with optimism, determination, and a shared sense of purpose. Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry has an illustrious past, and together, we will script an even brighter future. I am honoured to lead as your President and eagerly anticipate collaborating with each of you to realise our collective vision of a thriving business community in Abuja,” he stated.
