As residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) gear up to elect the next president and members of the National Assembly, major roads, motor parks and other recreational centres, have been deserted.

A visit to some of the major hubs in Kubwa, Gwarinpa and other parts of the metropolis, showed that residents, who during weekends, trooped to recreational centres, were visibly absent.

Similarly, the busy Kubwa-AYA expressway, was deserted by motorists, as at the time of filing in this report.

Only armed security agents were seen patrolling neighbourhoods.

Some residents who are not mobile, but intend to move to other areas to vote, were seen stranded in bus stops, as no commercial vehicles were available as at the time of filing in this report.
