The China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) Nigeria has said the Collector Road C01 in Abuja will improve daily movement for the Body of Benchers, Nile University and the surrounding communities.

The Executive Director, CCECC Nigeria, Shao Zong, stated this during the commissioning of the road by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The Collector Road C01 in the Institution and Research District, according to Shao, links the Body of Benchers to the Nile University area, including a bridge.

Shao expressed profound gratitude to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for his unwavering support, which made the successful completion and commissioning of the project possible.

“I also sincerely thank the FCDA team and the CCECC project team. Your close collaboration, commitment and hard work made the timely delivery of this project possible.

“The road being commissioned today is more than just a road. It will improve daily movement for the Body of Benchers, Nile University and the surrounding communities. More importantly, it is a practical demonstration of the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR—delivering visible infrastructure, promoting development and improving the quality of life of Nigerians,” Shao said.

The CCECC Executive Director further said that in the FCT, the national vision is being translated into tangible results through purposeful leadership.

He also said that from the commencement of the project, the minister visited the site almost every month to inspect and monitor the progress of the work.

Shao added that the minister did not simply issue directives from his office but came to the site, inspected the work firsthand, resolved challenges and demanded results.

“It is under this kind of committed leadership that we were able to complete this project in just six months.

“Your Excellency, as you rightly stated in your recent lecture at the University of Port Harcourt, where infrastructure is strong, economies expand, opportunities multiply, and social stability is reinforced. In line with this vision, and to unlock even greater development opportunities in this district, Your Excellency has directed that this road be further extended to connect with Ring Road III, a project that was officially flagged off last month.

“Finally, permit me to speak not only as a representative of a contractor, but also as an ordinary resident of Abuja. We sincerely thank Your Excellency, the Honourable Minister of the FCT, for your dedication, your tireless commitment, and your selfless service to the people. We appreciate you not only for initiating numerous landmark projects, but, more importantly, for ensuring that they are completed, delivered, and made to serve the people whose lives they are intended to improve,” the CCECC Executive Director further said.
