Aside being a Nigerian business leader with a focus on building resilient, multi-sector enterprises, Abraham Ikechukwu Otti, Founder of Allied Victory Nigeria Limited, has carved a niche for himself as a public spirited businessman, doing good in his Achala Umuchu community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
From infrastructure development –roads, street lights, empowerment – to palliatives, education and cash donations, he has touched many lives. He brought development to his community by installing solar-powered street lights from Ibubu junction to every corner of Achalla Village, enhancing visibility and security in the communities. In addition, this gesture projects his commitment to community development through philanthropy.
Chief Otti’s helping hand in education is also exemplary. He paid school fees for children in nursery and primary schools at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Achalla, Umuchu with a promised to continue to ensure that every child has access to education. This gesture lessened the burden of many parents, guardians and indigent school children.
He embarked on an ambitious project to build several kilometers of road in his community, thereby relieving the state government of the burden of road construction. Through that groundbreaking initiative of massive road construction in Umuchu, he spread joy to the people, giving them access to other communities for the movement of goods and services. It also brought an improvement on their social and economic lives and encouraged development in the area.
By providing youths with motorcycles to encourage them in their various daily business activities through which they earn their living, he also empowered the entire community as beneficiaries of his kind gesture, in turn, cater for their dependants and extended family members.
Every Christmas season, Chief Otti brings joy to the people of Umuchu by distributing over 500 bags of rice to households, particularly to widows and vulnerable women in the community. Many of the beneficiaries of his Christmas gifts see his gesture as a significant act of compassion that puts the entire community in a festive mood.
In a rare act of compassion, he embarked on a mission to provide homes for those in need, leading to the furnishing and delivery of homes to10 indigent widows. While embarking on this project, he ensured that comfort was not only guaranteed but was also delivered to those who needed it most. This was life-changing for those who benefited from it, and offered hope to several others.
Otti’s act of generosity does not stop there. He had also presented each widow with a sum of N600, 000 in cash to alleviate their financial burdens. He also took up the task of building and outfitting the Holy Trinity Church (Anglican Communion) in his community.
It is in consideration of his empathy, care, the smiles he puts on people’s faces, the spirit and willingness to do public good and other memorable acts of charity that The Sun Board of Editors chose him as winner of The Sun Humanitarian Service Icon of the Year 2026.
