Ogere Remo in Ogun State is targeting N2.5 billion for infrastructural development as the community rolls out activities to mark the 50th anniversary of its annual Founder’s Day, popularly known as Lipakala Day.
The golden jubilee, slated for October 17, is expected to bring together indigenes at home and in the diaspora, political and traditional leaders, corporate organisations, community stakeholders, friends and well-wishers to celebrate the town’s history and mobilise support for its development.
Chairman of the anniversary media sub-committee, Dare Adekanmbi, said in a statement that prominent personalities had been invited to the grand finale.
Among them are Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, and Oladipupo Adebutu, who are expected as special guests of honour.
Immediate past President of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) and Awokose Omoluabi Oodua, Dr Victor Alonge, will chair the occasion, during which the community hopes to raise the N2.5 billion development fund.

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, is chief host, while the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, and Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, are royal fathers of the day.
The Ologere of Ogere, Oba James Obafemi Saliu, described the 2026 edition as particularly significant because it marks five decades of “promoting unity, preserving the cultural identity of Ogere Remo and mobilising its people for the advancement of the community.”
Adekanmbi said the anniversary would also honour the vision and sacrifices of the town’s founding fathers and recognise individuals who had contributed to its growth.
“The golden jubilee will provide an opportunity to celebrate the vision and sacrifices of the founding fathers, recognise individuals who have contributed to the growth of the town and renew the collective commitment of the people to building a more prosperous Ogere Remo,” he said.
The organisers called on indigenes, residents, friends and associates of Ogere Remo at home and abroad to participate in the celebration.
