Police in Abia State have confirmed the arrest of an alleged notorious drug dealer, Prince Chukwudi Eguzouwa, 49, from Ahiaba Ubi, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area.
This is as youths from the community have urged police in the State to ensure the prosecution of the suspect.
A police statement issued by Abia Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Maureen Chinaka said operatives of the Violent Response Unit, Anti-Cultism Unit, acting on actionable intelligence, on September 18, carried out a coordinated raid on criminal hideouts at Ahiaba Ubi, Isiala Ngwa North LGA.
Chinaka said during the raid, the suspect, also known as a notorious drug dealer within the community, was apprehended.
The statement added that during the operation, bags containing substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, “Scottish Loud,” Methamphetamine, Cocaine, and other hard drugs were recovered.
On conclusion of investigations, the suspect was on Tuesday arraigned in court and remanded in a correctional facility.
