Abia State police command has arraigned one Mr. Lambert Evans Uzoma, the man who allegedly abused his son, Master Ugonna Uzoma.
A police statement said the suspect was charged to court after the conclusion of investigations at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Umuahia.
Upon arraignment, the suspect was remanded in correctional custody, while
the victim was handed over to the Ministry of Women Affairs for proper care, rehabilitation, and continued protection.
Mr. Uzoma of No. 2b Nwokocha Close, off Udeagbala Road, Abayi, Aba, Abia State was arrested on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, following a viral video which circulated on social media, depicting a young boy who was tied with a rope, brutally flogged, severely injured, stripped naked, and left exposed under the scorching sun.
The victim is presently in the custody of the Abia State Ministry of Women Affairs for proper attention.
