Abia State governor, Alex Otti, has promised automatic employment for corps members who excel during their service year.
He made the pledge at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II corps members at the NYSC orientation camp, Umunna, Bende Local Government Area of the state.
Otti, represented by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Mrs. Jane Maxwell Igwe, said the state has a tradition of rewarding outstanding corps members.
“Those who distinguished themselves will be offered employment in relevant public sector establishments,” he said.
He urged corps members to work diligently and leave lasting impressions in their host communities.

The governor also assured them of continuous government support to ensure their well-being.
“We are building systems that cater to young professionals and encourage innovation and growth,” he added.
Otti encouraged corps members to take advantage of human capital development programmes in ICT, entrepreneurship, and agriculture.
He expressed hope that many would remain in the state after service to build careers and businesses.
The oath of allegiance was administered by Justice Collington Okoroafor, who represented the Chief Judge of the state.
The ceremony was attended by security officials and government representatives, including the Commander, 14 Brigade Nigeria Army, Ohafia, Brigadier General A M Dikko.
