Abia: Mob kills man for flinging child to death from 2 storey building

An angry mob in Aba, Abia State early in the week reportedly killed a man whose name could not be ascertained for allegedly killing one of his children and injuring another.

The man is said to be in his early ‘40s and hailed from a community in Obingwa Local Government Area, but resided at Umuobe phase 11, Ovom, in the Ogbor Hill axis of Aba.

It was gathered that the man had quarrel with his nursing-mother wife which resulted in a serious altercation and the man was said to have told the wife he would do something she would not forget in live.

As the quarrel raged, their two children were said to have raced to the balcony of their apartment at the last floor of the two storey building where the altercation was going on.

Reports say immediately the man saw his children, he rushed and picked one of them and threw him down from the two storey building.

He immediately grabbed the second child and also threw him down and attempted flinging the third child down who the wife was carrying, but she resisted him.

Information had it that as the man was unable to collect his third child from the wife and throw down, he jumped down from the two storey building himself and got wounded.

As he got up to escape, angry mob that had gathered, hacked him down, killing him in the process.

The injured child was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention, while the man and his late child were taken to the mortuary.
