The Abia State Leadership Academy (ASLA) is partnering with the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos for the raising of ethical and transformational leaders.
Established as a special initiative of the Governor Alex Otti Administration, ASLA is dedicated to instilling the ideals of service, civic responsibility, and excellence among young people, public officials, and entrepreneurs.
In a statement signed by the President of the Academy, Prof. Kenneth Kalu the partnership will see ASLA and the EDC collaborate across the entire value chain of leadership development, including curriculum design, pedagogical delivery, expert facilitation, and joint certification for the Academy’s diverse portfolio of programmes.
“This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the Academy’s mission to establish itself as a foremost institution for raising ethical, innovative, and transformational leaders.
“Following the resounding success of the 2025 inaugural bootcamp, which empowered 1,000 young leaders, the Academy is now scaling its impact through this global-standard partnership”.
Prof Kalu said ASLA chose EDC, established in 2003, for the alliance, having worked with reputable international organizations such as the World Bank, Goldman Sachs Foundation, MasterCard Foundation, and KPMG.
“By aligning with the EDC, we are ensuring that our participants receive world-class mentorship and training,” stated Prof. Kalu. This partnership will further enrich our offerings, enabling our alumni to lead with the courage, integrity, and service-orientation required to drive long-term sustainable development in Abia State and beyond”, Prof Kalu stated.
Meanwhile, the Academy has confirmed August 1, as commencement date for the 2026 Youth Leadership Bootcamp.
The Bootcamp which will be a residential programme, will be co-facilitated by senior faculty lecturers from the EDC and ASLA.
