The Abia State Government has denied sacking doctors in her employ. It has equally denied a sacking of the coach of Enyimba International FC, Aba, Finidi George.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr Ngozi Okoronkwo, who dismissed as untrue and unfounded, the news that Abia State Government has sacked all medical doctors in the state public service, said Government has no intention of sacking any doctor.
“The purported sack is only the figment of the author’s imagination as the government has no intention of sacking or disengaging any doctor or health personnel currently working to support our ongoing efforts at reviving the health sector in the state.”
She also maintained that no one has been asked to submit a “fresh expression of interest” as the fake circular directed.
Dr Okoronkwo advised the doctors and members of the general public to ignore the rumour and support the several initiatives of the government at driving holistic healthcare delivery in the state.
Meanwhile, the state Government has equally denied sacking Finidi George as head coach of Enyimba FC.
A statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kazie Uko and titled, “Finidi George still Enyimba’s manager, not sacked”, said the story making the rounds that the technical bench of Nigeria’s premier league champions, Enyimba have been sacked, was fake.
“There is no iota of truth in that fable as no directive has been issued in that regard by either the state government or the club’s management.
“Mr Finidi George, manager of Enyimba and Nigeria’s former international, remains the manager of the club, likewise all other officers,” the release added.
