The All Progressives Congress (APC), Bende Local Government Area, Abia State and Abia North Peace Foundation (ANPF) have lauded President Bola Tinubu over the nomination of the Chairman/Publisher of The Sun Publishing Limited, Ogbonneya (Neya) Kalu, as an Ambassador designate.
In a statement signed by Chief (Hon) Prince Ulu Onwuchekwa (Chairman) and Chief Igwe Chibuisi Agu (Secretary), APC, Bende LGA, the party said it received, with delight, Ms Kalu’s nomination.
Describing the nomination as well deserved, the party said Ms Kalu, “has contributed immensely in human capital development in Bende Local Government Area, Abia North and Abia State at large.
“It is not in doubt, her humanitarian and selfless services to the constituents, even pupils and students in our schools in Abia North senatorial district have been benefiting from Barr Neya’s foundation every academic session.
The statement noted, with satisfaction, that Neya Kalu is following the footsteps of his father, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who, it said, has distinguished himself in the upliftment of the lives of his people, starting from when he was governor of Abia State and, now, as the Senator representing Abia North.

On its part, ANPF commended President Tinubu for nominating Neya Kalu as one of Nigeria’s non-career ambassadors.
A release signed by its Director-General, Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu, the Foundation described the nomination as well deserved.
“The Abia North Peace Foundation expresses profound appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for this honour done to Abia North. Barrister Neya Kalu’s nomination is a testament to her leadership qualities, business acumen, and strong humanitarian values,” the release said.
The Foundation noted that Neya Kalu has distinguished herself as a lawyer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and Chairman/Publisher of The Sun Publishing Company, adding that her nomination has brought pride and visibility to Abia North.
“We are proud of her achievements and are certain she will represent our nation with grace, diplomacy, and excellence. This nomination shows that merit and service are still being recognised at the highest levels”.
While congratulating Ms Kalu, ANPF encouraged her to remain committed to the values of nation-building, community development, and humanitarian service, which have defined her public engagement over the years.
