Abdullahi Fodio University’s governing council appoints DVCs, professors, others

The Governing Council of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero, has approved the appointment of two new Deputy Vice-Chancellors and the promotion of several distinguished academics to the ranks of Professors, Readers, Deputy Registrars, Deputy Bursars and. Non- Academic Staff.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the University, Mustapha Mansur Ango who confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi disclosed that the approval took place at the 44th Governing Council meeting under the Pro- Chancellor and Chairman of the Council, Dr Haliru Bala Jikan Daudu.

Ango disclosed that the Governing Council also approved the Promotion of 10 Professors, two Readers, 9 Deputy Registrars, four Deputy Bursars and Other Non-Teaching Staff.

According to him, “at the landmark meeting held at the University Council Chamber, the Council officially confirmed the appointment of two new Deputy Vice-Chancellors and approved the promotion of several distinguished academics to the ranks of Professors and Readers.

“In a similar development the council also approved the promotion of 9 Deputy Registrars, 4 Deputy Bursars, 1 Deputy Director, 6 Principal Assistant Registrars, 4 chief Executive Officers, 5 Chief Education Officers, 5 Chief Technologists and 8 Chief Technical Officers.

“The approvals followed a due selection process and were based on the recommendations of the University Senate and the Appointments, Promotions and Disciplinary Committee”.

Ango disclosed that the two Deputy Vice- Chancellors appointed by the Council are Professor Yakubu Yahya as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic who was, formerly Director, School of Basic and Remedial Studies and

Dr Umar Muhammad – Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), who was formerly Dean, Faculty of Physical Sciences.

The PRO stated that the their appointments took effect from 24th December 2025.
