In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Rofiat Abdulazeez has clinched the wild card slot for the upcoming Abbas Family Squash Tournament in Maryland, USA.
This achievement came on the heels of her victory at the inaugural Nigeria Top 8 Female Invitational Tournament.
On Saturday, Abdulazeez delivered a commanding 3-0 win over Busayo Olatunji in the final match held at the Ibadan Recreation Club, securing her place in the prestigious U.S. tournament. Her journey to the final was impressive, with decisive victories over Veronica Sunday (3-0), Mistura Durosinlorun (3-1), and Delight Allison (3-0) in the preliminary rounds, followed by a 3-1 triumph over Blessing Isaac in the semifinals.
The Nigeria Top 8 Female Invitational Tournament, sponsored by Solar Power Etal, saw its CEO, Akinlolu Ajayi-Obe, commit to making it an annually.
