Abducted Nasarawa CAN chairman regains freedom

Chairman, Nasarawa state Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Arch Bishop Joseph G. Masin who was kidnapped last week by the suspected fulanis in Lafia has been released from abductors.

Arch Bishop Masin was released on Saturday at about 11: pm and was reunited with his family members in Lafia the state capital at exactly 1.48 am on Sunday.

Arch Bishop Masin as according to one of the children, Pastor Sam Joseph in a telephone conversation with our correspondent in Lafia said their father arrived home at 1 48 am this Sunday morning.

Pastor Joseph maintained that his father was at the moment so weak and tired due to the long distance trekking he was subjected to by his abductors after they release him.

The Pastor also however admitted that a certain sum was given as ransom to kidnappers before his release.

He added that their father was also released in a hurry due to pressure from the security agencies especially the Nigeria police.

Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa state Command, Bola Longe confirmed the release of the CAN Chairman Arch Bishop Joseph G Masin who was kidnapped last week.

The State Police Boss denied having knowledge on whether ransom was paid and attributed the successful rescue of the CAN Chairman to intelligence information at the disposal of the command.

CP Longe warned criminals to stay clear from Nasarawa state, he urged the public to always assist the police with useful information that could lead to a crime free society.
