AA House of Reps candidate in double candidacy scandal

Stanley Uzoaru, Owerri

The Action Alliance (AA) candidate for Ohaji/Egbema, Oru West and Oguta, Kingsley Uju, has dispelled the allegation that he has a double candidacy with the Democratic Alliance (DA) and the AA.

Briefing newsmen yesterday, Uju described the allegation as a handiwork of his political detractors, who are afraid of his rise in politics.

Already, he maintained that the national chairman of DA has apologised to him over the mixup.

“I can tell you for sure,  I don’t play double standard,  I am the candidate of AA, I don’t even know the party they are talking of.

“What happened was that my political detractors manipulated and manufactured the whole story,I am a full fledged member of AA and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is aware and has dully cleared me for Saturdays election.

My political enemies are afraid of me and that is why they are using the disqualification rumour to do their own campaign. I have empowered over 1,600 youths and that is why I am popular, they know it,” Uju said.
