The National Chairman of the Action Alliance (AA), Chief Kenneth Udeze, has urged Nigerians to disregard the purported judgment ordering the arrest and imprisonment of the immediate past chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu.
It was reported that Justice Adefunmilola Demi-Ajayi of the Federal High Court, Osogbo, Osun State, has ordered the arrest and imprisonment of Professor Yakubu for disobeying the court’s judgement, arising from a suit purportedly filed by Adekunle Rufai Omoaje and his cohorts in their desperate move to arm-twist INEC to recognise them as leaders of the party .
Yakubu was said to have failed to implement the court’s order to re-list the national officers of the Action Alliance on its website.
Omoaje was reported to have filed a suit marked FHC/OS/194/2024 for an order from the court to compel INEC and Professor Yakubu, to re-enlist their names, which had been illegally removed from the Commission’s portal.
However, in a statement yesterday, the National Chairman of Action Alliance, Chief Kenneth Udeze, urged members of the public and party faithful to disregard the purported court order and remain calm.

“On the issue of a purported court order against the former INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, I want Nigeria to disregard such false rumours as there’s no such judgment.”
Meanwhile, Chief Udeze has rejected the judgment of a Federal High Court, Osogbo, purportedly affirming the Omoaje-led executive as authentic leaders of the party on the grounds that it was fraudulently procured.
The party explained that the issue of the authentic leadership of the party has long been settled by judgments of both the trial court and the Court of Appeal in favour of Chief Kenneth Udeze-led national leadership of the party.
Udeze insisted that Omoaje, his agents and privies had, after losing various suits at both the FCT High Court, Abuja and the Court of Appeal, all in favour of Chief Udeze-led national leadership of the party, clandestinely run to Osogbo to obtain the fraudulent judgment.
Accordingly, he urged members of the public and party faithful to disregard the same and remain calm.
“The Action Alliance (AA) faithful across Nigeria and beyond should remain calm and be law abiding that the national leadership of the party led by the national chairman, Chief Kenneth Udeze, has directed our team of lawyers to do everything legally to vacate this fraudulent judgement obtained by Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, his agents and privies from the Federal High Court, Osogbo,” Udeze stated.
