Chairman of Nsit Ubium local government area Hon Charles Alfred has said that he had invited the state governor Pastor Umo Eno to commission an ultra modern market complex and flag- off education trust fund with first batch of 53 undergraduates from the area studying in tertiary institutions .
According to council chairman, the market complex built his administration comprises 3 blocks containing 36 lock- up stores, 28 open sheds with 378 partitions, 6 multipurpose sheds without partitions, market office and modern lavatory at Ubium South part of the area.
Alfred who briefed Journalists in his office ahead of the commissioning ceremony disclosed that he was inspired by governor Umo Eno’s performance and good governance at the grassroot.
Alfred explained strategic features of the market to include solar powered lighting, water and modern lavatory needed to meet challenges of contemporary society.
The chairman disclosed that the commissioning exercise will also feature establishment of the council’s Education Trust fund, scholarship for first batch of 53 students in higher institutions as well as free medical outreach for over 100,000 residents of the area.
