A/ Ibom govt, consortium sign MoU for delivery of Ibom Deepsea project

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno and Interaf Consortium have signed memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for delivery of Ibom Deepsea project as a critical infrastructure aimed at boosting economy of Akwa Ibom and transform Niger Delta and South South region .

Speaking during execution of the MoU at Government House , Uyo Eno explained that the implementation of the Deepsea project was necessary to transform the economy of the state.

Eno who was represented by Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah with the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Uko Udom (SAN) emphasized the project’s significance and directed the consortium to work closely with the Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation, AKICORP as the state government’s representative to ensure its timely execution.

“The project is a necessity for the people of the State. My administration is fully committed to putting the necessary requirements in place to get it on course”.

He commended the organization for its interest in the project and commended former Petroleum Minister, Atuekong Don Etiebet, for being a part of the team, and for working towards the actualization of the facility in the State.

Etiebet who was part of the consortium team scored Eno high in his visionary and impactful leadership, which according to him has remarkably transformed the State for the better.

The former Petroleum Minister noted that the MoU marks a significant milestone in the project’s development which was first conceived in 2007.

Responding, t he Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Interaf Group Consortium, Engr. Ezinwa Chinedu Ibekwe, appreciated Akwa Ibom Government for the confidence reposed in the company and assured of the consortium’s readiness to deliver on its mandate, promising a collaborative approach to ensure the project’s success.

High-point was the official signing of the MoU, between the State Government and Interaf Group Consortium which outlines the modalities and preliminary framework for collaboration in respect of the development and operations of the deep sea port and the Ibom Industrial City.
