Akwa Ibom state Deputy Governor Dr Akon Eyakenyi and other APC stakeholders have lauded the peaceful conduct of APC senatorial primary in Oron federal constituency as incumbent senator Ekong Sampson clinched the party’s ticket for second term in Akwa Ibom South senatorial district.
Speaking with Journalists , Eyakenyi explained that Governor Umo Eno’s pragmatic leadership has united Akwa Ibom people into one formidable movement, making the primaries rancour-free without any reports of thuggery, voter harassment, violence, or acrimony.
The Deputy Governor appreciated Oron leaders and stakeholders for the massive love and support they have demonstrated for the current administration, adding that.the incumbent Senator Ekong Sampson who was the sole aspirant for the primaries has received overwhelming affirmative vote from the massive crowd that turned out to vote.
She said Oron remains the stronghold of APC including the five Local Governments in the Federal Constituency and assured that come 2027, APC candidates will win all positions during the elections.
Reacting to the victory of the incumbent senator Sampson in his ward, Chairman of Oron local government area , Hon Okon Enweme described the APC Primaries as hitch-free .

He said the people mobilized and came out in their numbers to demonstrate their support for the APC and Governor Umo Eno who has executed mega projects in Oron including the Oron beach maritime infrastructure, model schools, hospitals and roads.
Enweme disclosed that incumbent Senator Ekong Sampson has no rival in the primary elections.
In Urue Offong Oruko , the council chairman Hon. Uno Etim Uno said the people of the area have decided to queue behind Senator Sampson and follow their leader, Governor Umo Eno whose administration has brought profound peace, development, and unity to the entire State.
” We have to give our block votes to senator Ekong Sampson because he must gain from the support we give to our leader Governor Umo Eno as he has brought peace , development and unity to the entire state “.
