Imevbore Frank Akpata, better known as King Veeow, reflects on his path in the entertainment industry, sharing how he could have become a music star but was discouraged by friends. Initially, King Veeow embarked on his entertainment career as a keyboard player.
“I started entertainment by playing keyboard in Anglican Church, Uroe as far back as 2003 where my dad was a lay reader, and by doing that I worked with different people. I remember I worked with my relative called Mr. Oyegbe in Uroe, Edo State, before I moved to Lagos in 2007.” Despite his passion for music, King Veeow’s aspirations to become a rapper were thwarted by naysayers. “I started writing rap songs but was discouraged by friends,” he said.
However, in 2018, his fortunes began to change when Kizz Daniel signed his friend DJ Dino. King Veeow joined them, working alongside Kizz Daniel, and by 2019, he had transitioned to working with Ice Prince, further honing his skills and industry knowledge. By 2023, King Veeow had shifted his focus to content creation, leveraging his extensive experience in the entertainment industry.
This led to the establishment of Chunesday Africa, a company dedicated to delivering diverse entertainment content in Lagos State. As a director and shareholder, King Veeow has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s vision and success. King Veeow’s journey underscores his resilience and adaptability in the face of setbacks.
While his initial dreams of musical stardom were not realized, his pivot to content creation and media has cemented his status as a leading figure in the entertainment industry. Through Chunesday Africa, he continues to influence and entertain audiences, proving that setbacks can often lead to even greater opportunities.
