People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Kaduna State, Isa Ashiru Kudan, has described his victory at the just concluded gubernatorial primaries as bad omen for incumbent Governor Nasir el-Rufai as the 2019 approaches.

Ashiru, who is a former member of lower chamber of the National Assembly from Makarfi federal constituency, stated this in his acceptance speech to his supporters shortly after he was declared the winner of the poll after garnering 1,330 of the 2,547 votes cast.

According to him, “My victory here today is a collective win for all of us and it will surely bring victory to our great party, PDP.

“The battle to Sir Ibrahim Kashim House come 2019 is going to be taught and we cannot get the power without unity.

“Like I said, this is not mine, but its ours. The unified PDP in Kaduna is prerequisite to success. Success is awaiting us to take.

“I do not foresee failure. But should we slack or allow anything to decide us, the consequence will be grave.

“We will not leave no stone unturned to ensure that, come March 2019, PDP returns to power in the interest of our people who have missed dividends of democracy for the past three years of the ruling party.

“I will carry all my contenders along in my campaign team, as well as in government if elected the next governor of our dear state.

He, however, expressed appreciation to the delegates and the party for the confidence reposed in him to bear the party’s flag among other qualified members of the party.
