Governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the forthcoming 2025 Anambra state election, Chief Paul Chukwuma has declared that his mission is to govern the state with love, integrity, and a deep sense of compassion.

Speaking while addressing supporters in Awka, Chukwuma stated that his decision to seek the governorship is driven not by personal ambition, but by a genuine desire to bring succor to the less privileged and vulnerable across Anambra.

He emphasized his commitment to a people-oriented vision, promising to lead with empathy and purpose.

“I am not stepping forward as a mere politician, but as a brother, a son, and a servant to the good people of Anambra state. I have heard your cries – and I will wipe your tears,” Chukwuma said.

The Umueri-born candidate explained that his decision to contest was inspired by his live experiences among the people. “I have walked our streets, sat with our elders, and broken bread with our traders. I know where it hurts, and I know where we can begin to heal,” he said.

Chukwuma laid out a bold and practical agenda that includes prioritizing critical infrastructure such as roads, ensuring access to quality education, improving healthcare systems, strengthening security, and creating meaningful employment for the youth.

He stated that his campaign is about bringing governance closer to the people, stating: “My mission is to bring government to the doorsteps of the people. This is not a dream – it is my destiny. I believe in people-centered leadership. I believe in empowering our women, educating our children, and creating real opportunities for our youth to thrive,” Chukwuma said.

In a firm commitment to transparency and ethical governance, Chukwuma pledged to lead with honesty and accountability.

“Let it be known today: I am not here to make empty promises. I am here to work, to build, and to deliver. I am here because, I was born for this,” he declared.

As the 2025 election season gathers momentum, Chukwuma’s message of empathy, integrity, and inclusive development is resonating strongly, particularly among young voters and grassroots communities.

Popularly known as Onwa Umueri, the YPP candidate is positioning himself as a fresh voice and a unifying force for a new Anambra where  according to him, restoration, progress, and unity will take center stage.
