The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh has advocated a shift in narrative in the way Nigerians relate with security agencies.
She urged Nigerians to begin highlighting the countless acts of bravery, sacrifice, and gallantry shown by security agents instead of constantly digging up negative videos about them. The police image-maker made the appeal in an X post on Tuesday.
Adeh emphasised that security of lives and property is a collective effort that cannot be abandoned to security agencies alone.
She noted that the public boosts the morale of security personnel when they share their stories of courage.
Adeh said, “Can we begin to shift the narrative? Instead of constantly digging up negative videos about our security agencies, let’s start highlighting the countless acts of bravery, sacrifice, and gallantry shown by our officers daily.
“Let’s flood the space with stories of courage, resilience, and progress so that criminals understand that the security forces are closing in, and that crime has consequences.
“This fight is not for the security agencies alone. It’s a collective responsibility. Every shared video of a successful rescue, a foiled attack, or a community saved helps build public confidence and weakens criminal morale.
“So, I urge everyone, citizens, bloggers, influencers, let’s start amplifying the efforts, sacrifices, and silent victories of those who risk everything to protect us.
“Your voice matters. Use it to inspire hope, not fear.”
