Ondo State Governor, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has urged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to embrace their national assignment with a deep sense of responsibility and contribute meaningfully to the progress of the nation.

The Governor gave the charge on Tuesday while speaking through the state Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Kuburat Omowumi Bakare during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch A, stream two orientation course held at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Ikare-Akoko.

Governor Aiyedatiwa affirmed that the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 2 corps members had undergone paramilitary drills, leadership and citizenship training, skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development training, which, if properly used will distinguish them among their contemporaries

He said the various forms of patriotic education undergone during the orientation exercise will be of immense advantage not only to the corps members but the country at large.

The Governor who commended the enthusiasm of the NYSC corps members to serve the nation,  urged them to allow their conduct to reflect the values instilled on them during the orientation course and be impactful in their host communities.

“Be proactive, embrace your host communities, identify areas of need and contribute to community development efforts. In doing so, you will not only leave lasting footprints but also promote national unity and integration,” the Governor said.

Governor Aiyedatiwa also encouraged the corps members to take full advantage of the NYSC SAED programme and pursue ventures that will make them self-reliant after their service year.

He also enjoined them not to engage in societal sharp practices and remain law-abiding, saying that they are the ambassadors of their various backgrounds.

The governor who asserted that the security of the corps members remain top priority of his government, enjoined them to be security-conscious at all times.
