A total of 95 students in Kano State have graduated with diploma certificates in digital entrepreneurship and agricultural value chain production.
The training, organised by the A.A. Zaura Foundation in partnership with the University of Sunderland and London Academy Business School, exposed the graduates to agricultural value chains and how to use digital tools to scale productivity.
It trained them on how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to solve real-world challenges and lead the transformation of agriculture from soil to screen.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Kano, business tycoon Abdulsalam Abdulkarim Zaura celebrated the graduates for embracing a future that is digital, productive, and full of limitless possibilities.
“Today’s ceremony is not merely about awarding Diplomas in Digital Entrepreneurship; it is about marking the beginning of a new era, an era where Kano youth no longer wait for opportunities to come to them, but one where they create opportunities.
“An era where agriculture is no longer seen as subsistence, but one where it has become a technologically powered engine of innovation, enterprise, and wealth creation,” he added.
He described the graduates as the heartbeat of a changing Nigeria, particularly Kano State, while charging them, “Go forth and disrupt the digital ecosystem and feed the people, digitally and sustainably.
“You came into this programme with curiosity and perhaps uncertainty, but you are leaving now with competence, confidence, skills, and a clear direction,” he added.
He expressed gratitude to their partners, saying their commitment to co-create the initiative and invest in the capacity of African youth was commendable.
“This is how global collaboration should work: it should be rooted in adequate needs assessment of local needs, relevance to the beneficiaries, driven by dignity, and focused on long-term transformation,” he declared.
