The Faculty of Education at the University of Lagos played host to “Oluko Campus Tour” event that brought together over 200 students in the faculty.

The event, themed “Beyond the Degree,” is the brain-child of Coach Tosin Aroloye, an educationist who explained in a statement that the event is aimed at challenging students’ perceptions of their role as educators and inspire them to think beyond the traditional classroom settings.

The convener disclosed that the event featured series of sessions designed to provide students with practical insights and strategies for building a strong professional identity, leveraging digital tools, and finding income opportunities.

“Through storytelling, skill-sharing, and real-life examples, the speakers encouraged students to think creatively about their career paths and the impact they can have in the world,” Aroloye said.

She explained further that one of the key takeaways from the event was the importance of students seeing themselves as more than just teachers.

She said, “The speakers emphasized that education students have the potential to be leaders, entrepreneurs, and consultants. They need to be equipped with the skills and confidence to pursue their passions.”

According to the educationist, the event was well-received by the students, who appreciated the opportunity to engage with the speakers and mentors.

The statement further said that the campus tour highlighted the need for education students to be empowered with the right mindset, skills, and support.
