The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc has won the Aviation Ground Handling Company of the Year Award.

Commenting on the strides the company has made  over the years, the organisers, Transport Day Media, praised NAHCO’s resilience, saying, “It is a company that the Nigerian aviation community should be proud of.”

The latest award was presented to the company recently in Lagos at the Transport Day Annual Lecture, where other key players in the Nigerian transportation sector were also recognised for their contributions to sustainable development of the sector in the country.

Commenting, the Group Executive Director, Corporate Services, NAHCO Plc, Dr. Sola Obabori, said the company is delighted to be the recipient of the Award. “This is well deserved because everyone in the aviation sector recognises the important role NAHCO plays in the industry,” he said.

According to Obabori, riding on the back of a successful operating year, 2024, the company could only make real progress and add value to its shareholders in the current year.

He noted that NAHCO’s commitment to sustainable transportation initiatives is evident through its implementation of technologies and procedures aimed at minimising idling time of ground vehicles, thus saving fuel and reducing emissions.

“This recognition underscores the hard work and dedication of our entire team in integrating sustainability into our core operations. We remain steadfast in our commitment to providing world-class aviation handling services while minimizing our environmental impact and contributing to a greener future for the Nigerian aviation sector,” Obabori said.
