Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Alumni Association (MAPALUM) is set to hold her biennial alumni convention on Saturday, May 24, at Ojere campus, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to the National President, Mr Ezekiel Obasanya, “The convention and general meeting will usher in a change of guard as the new national executive council (NEC) are to be elected by delegates from various chapters.
“Delegates expected at the convention will come from various chapters including Lagos, Abeokuta, Remo, United Kingdom and Europe, as well as America and North America.”
The Rector, Dr Koyejo Jolaoso, will deliver the keynote address. Chairman, MAPOLY’s Governing Council, Prof Kamal Balogun will be the special guest of honour while the Executive Chairman, Surry Bee Petroleum Ltd, Hadj Adebisi Bada, will be the Chairman of the event.
The Rector, D.S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itoro- Ewekoro, Ogun State, Dr Goke Rauf will deliver a paper, titled, “Elevating MAPOLY’s Legacy through Alumni Partnership.”
The Royal Father of the day is the Olota of Ota Kingdom, Oba Abdul-Kabir Adeyemi Obalanlege.
Issues expected to be concluded at the national convention include built, operate and transfer (BOT) of the alumni hostel building project with 1, 200 capacity each for male and female hostel; completion of Alumni Centre and entrepreneurship and skills acquisition scheme for students and mentorship, among others.
Dignitaries and alumni expected to grace the convention include the Chairman, Committee for distinguished alumni (CODA) and executive director of Minds and Brains Ltd Media Independent, Mr Olalekan Otun; executive chairman, SKP Services Ltd, Samson Popoola; veteran broadcaster and former General Manager, NTA Katsina, Hadj Ayinde Soaga; Chairman Abeokuta North Local Govt, Mr Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo; special adviser to Ogun State Governor on Youth Development, Olamide Lawal; managing director, Kabat Communication Ltd, Chief Tunde Odeyemi; Chief of staff to chairman National Quality Control, Mr Bola Fashina and Managing Director 24/7 IMC Ltd, Omooba Segun Adewale, among others.
