Brigadier General Olawale Matthew Oyekola, Commander of 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army, has donated a refurbished operational vehicle to the Man-O-War Nigeria, Lagos State Command, to enhance its intelligence-gathering efforts for military operations across the state.

The handover ceremony took place at the brigade headquarters, where an abandoned Operation MESA patrol vehicle, restored for use, was presented.

Brigadier General Oyekola said the donation aims to strengthen collaboration with community-based security partners like the Man-O-War. “I found it expedient to refurbish one of the long-abandoned Operation MESA vehicles for the Man-O-War to encourage their information-gathering and sharing capabilities,” he said. “We hope this donation enhances their responsiveness and effectiveness in supporting our operations.”

Engineer Lucky Onimowo, Commander of the Man-O-War Lagos Command, received the vehicle and expressed gratitude. He pledged to use it effectively to provide timely, actionable intelligence to the brigade.

The ceremony’s highlight was the symbolic presentation of the vehicle keys to Onimowo by Oyekola.
