As Christians worldwide celebrate Easter, Niger State House of Assembly Speaker Rt Hon Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Niger State chapter have urged Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and love.
In separate messages, they emphasised that these values, exemplified by Jesus Christ, can address Nigeria’s challenges.
Sarkin Daji, in a statement by Acting Director of Information Mairo Adamu Mani, said, “Easter reminds us of the triumph of light over darkness and love over hate.” He described compassion, sacrifice, and unity as foundations for a peaceful society, urging the rich to support the poor, stating, “If we failed to remember them and show love.”
CAN State Chairman Most Rev. Dr Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, titled his message ‘Be Hopeful: Let us show Concern for One Another and Pray for our Leaders.’ He called for prayers for Governor Umaru Bago’s ‘New Niger Agenda’ and urged Christians to share gifts with the needy, reflecting Easter’s hope.
