Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 37 suspected internet fraudsters in an operation dubbed “Operation Eagle Sweep.”

EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday, April 9. He said the arrests occurred in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday, 8 April 2025, following credible intelligence about the suspects’ activities in various hideouts across the state.

Oyewale listed the seized items: “Recovered from them were different brands and models of exotic vehicles, smartphones, smart wristwatches, international passports, Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards from various banks, and laptops containing incriminating materials and documents.”

He added that the suspects, linked to alleged internet fraud, will face court proceedings once investigations conclude.
