Mr. Uyi Akpata, President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) and a prominent figure in the African cricket landscape, known for his leadership and fast-paced development of cricket in the country will be opening a new world class Cricket Oval at Community Secondary Commercial School in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
In recognition of the immense developmental strides that have produced about seven National Cricket Team Players, a cricket pitch was constructed in Uyo and ready for tape cutting ceremony on Friday, 4th April 2025.
Top state dignitaries and Niger Delta Sports stakeholders are expected to grace the grand opening of the Cricket Oval in Uyo. Some of the dignitaries expected to be entertained by the cricket events, including the Commissioner for Sports, Elder Paul Bassey, Deputy Speaker, Rt.Hon Kufreabasi Edidem and the Chairman of Itu Local Government Area, Hon. Ubong Kufre.
The cricket community in Akwa Ibom State and South South region was also excited to welcome the NCF President, who was decorated with award by Sportsville on Thursday evening in Lagos.
