Valencia CF is gearing up to spend €20 million on Super Eagles striker, Umar Sadiq and another signing in the upcoming summer transfer window, focusing on two key objectives: retaining the Nigerian and Enzo Barrenechea.

The club’s Sporting Directors are keen to satisfy head coach Carlos Corberán, who has emphasized the importance of keeping both players to ensure the project continues to develop positively.

Sadiq, a striker currently owned by Real Sociedad, has impressed the manager with his ability to outmanoeuvre centre-backs, exploit spaces, and maintain a consistent presence in the penalty area.

The Nigerian player, who joined Valencia on loan in January, has a purchase option set at €10 million. Although this amount is significant for the club’s finances, the coaching staff views it as a necessary investment.

Meanwhile, Enzo Barrenechea has emerged as one of the season’s pleasant surprises. The young midfielder, owned by Aston Villa, arrived without a purchase option but has shown remarkable maturity and physicality, making him a crucial part of the midfield.

Reports indicate that Aston Villa is open to negotiating his transfer for a fee of around €8 to €10 million, though another loan deal cannot be ruled out.

If both transactions go through, Valencia would spend nearly €20 million—an unusual move in recent years since Peter Lim curtailed investment at Mestalla. The goal is clear: to maintain the foundation of a competitive team and provide Corberán with the necessary tools to continue growing.
