The Super Eagles will receive a record win-bonus when they qualify for the 2026 World Cup, officials have specially told SCORENigeria
A new reward system has now been put in place to fire the Super Eagles to go all the way to the biggest-ever Mundial in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico next year.
As first only reported by SCORENigeria, win-bonus will now not be paid on a match-by-match case for the World Cup qualification campaign.
Instead, players will first receive an appearance fee of $1,000 each per game win or lose as well as their daily camp allowance of $200 during the international break.
Officials informed that way the pressure of paying out huge sums by the NFF match after match will be relaxed, while at the same time motivating the team to reach for the top prize, which is qualification for the World Cup.
So, for the case of the current Super Eagles engagements involving Rwanda and Zimbabwe, each player will receive a total of $3,600.
The breakdown is as follows –appearance fee $1,000 vs Rwanda, appearance fee $1,000 vs Zimbabwe while camp allowance 8 days (March 17-25) @$200 per day – $1,600.
It is now when the 2026 World Cup ticket has been secured that the Super Eagles will receive a qualification bonus that will cover all 10 qualifiers.
“It will be a once-off payment and I can boldly tell you it will be the biggest bonus ever paid for qualifying for the World Cup,” a top official said.
