A new beacon of hope has risen for vulnerable communities with the launch of the Dr. Maxwell I. Maduekesi Foundation. The foundation, launched by Rev. Dr. Ifeanyi Maduekesi, General Overseer of Divine Palace Church International in Lagos, whose 45th birthday was celebrated on February 25th, aims to combat systemic poverty by providing educational scholarships, empowerment and vocational skills training, and healthcare initiatives, rather than marking the milestone with lavish festivities.

“We believe that education is the foundation of a brighter future,” said Maduekesi, emphasising the foundation’s commitment to removing financial barriers for orphans and children from low-income families. The scholarship programme will ensure these children have the opportunity to continue their education.

Recognising the importance of economic empowerment, the foundation will also offer vocational and skills training programmes. “By equipping individuals with practical skills, we can help them secure sustainable livelihoods,” Maduekesi explained. The programmes will be tailored to empower women and youth with marketable skills.

The foundation will also address healthcare needs, providing access to essential medical services and health education. “A healthy community is a thriving community,” Maduekesi stated. “Our healthcare programmes will ensure that our beneficiaries receive the support they need to lead healthy lives.”

Beyond its own programmes, the foundation seeks to collaborate with corporate organisations, government agencies, and civic groups to maximize its reach and sustainability.

“Addressing systemic poverty requires collective effort. With the right partnerships, we can create opportunities that transform lives and uplift entire communities,” he said.
