Governor Alex Otti has approved the appointment of Mr. Benson Ojeikere as the new Head of Service of Abia State. The appointment takes effect from December 31, 2024.
A statement by Prof. Kenneth Kalu,
Secretary to Abia State Government said the appointment followed the conclusion of a rigorous merit-based selection process.
The statement added that while congratulating Mr. Ojeikere on his appointment, Governor Otti equally appreciated the immense contributions of the outgoing Head of Service, Dr. Ngozi Queen Obioma who is proceeding on statutory retirement.
Meanwhile, Governor Otti has approved the appointment of additional members of ABSU Governing Council.
Those appointed according to a statement include Elelenta Nwabuisi Elele, Stanley Onyekachi Okonta, Idris Korform Wabara, Rt. Rev. Nkechi Udunma Nwosu, Kalu Nto, Monday Ubani, SAN and Chinyere Juliet Okeziem-Nwoko.
The statement endorsed by Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said the appointees will join other statutory members of the council who had earlier been announced to run the board of the University.
The appointments the statement added, take immediate effect.
