Super Eagles in-form striker, Ademola Lookman has been named the 2024 African Footballer of The Year, succeeding his national teammate, Victor Osimhen.

Lookman became the sixth Nigerian player in history to win this prestigious award on Monday at the 2024 CAF Awards ceremony at the Palais des Congrés in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.

Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie has won the 2024 CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year for the second straight year.

The Nigerian senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons, also emerged as the Women’s National Team of the Year.

Falcons, nine-time African champions, edged Morocco and South Africa to win the prize, after finishing 2024 as the continent’s best women’s team on FIFA’s Ranking.

Four Super Falcons, Michelle Alozie, Osinachi Ohale, Assist Oshoala, and captain Rasheedat Ajibade, made the CAF Women’s Best XI team.
