The Nigerian Army said troops of 3 Division/Operation Safe Haven have neutralised some notorious bandits and rescued 25 kidnapped victims in Southern Kaduna.

In a statement shared on Facebook, the Army said the successful clearance of bandit hideouts took place on Wednesday, December 4.

The Army said troops carried out intelligence-based offensive operations at several locations, including Ruwan Sanye, Randa, Rafin Gora, Libere Gari, and Libere Makaranta in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna

According to the statement, the operation, code-named Operation Golden Peace, was conducted to ensure a secure harvest season and peaceful yuletide celebrations in the Joint Operations Area.

“Additionally, several hard drugs, including tramadol, energy drinks, and clothing materials, were recovered during the operation,” the Army said.

The Army said troops also discovered an illegal clinic where the bandits treated their injured cohorts.

“The area has been cleared, and further operations are ongoing to intercept the remaining fleeing bandits.

“3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN remains committed to ensuring the security of lives and property within the Joint Operations Area.

“The public is urged to continue supporting security agencies with timely intelligence to rid the area of criminal elements,” the statement further reads.
