The DigiGap programme 5.0, organized by Access Corporation and NerdzFactory Foundation, has empowered 500 youths from Lagos with vital digital skills to thrive in the fast-growing global tech industry.
This initiative is part of a continued effort to bridge the digital skills gap in Nigeria and empower the country’s youth to take full advantage of the burgeoning digital economy.
The programme’s 5th edition was designed to provide participants with critical skills in Product Design and Digital Marketing, both fields essential to succeeding in today’s technology-driven world.
Over the course of four intensive weeks, participants engaged in a hybrid learning model that combined both online and in-person training.
This blended approach allowed participants to acquire not only the technical knowledge necessary for a career in tech but also the practical experience needed to navigate the challenges of the industry.
In addition to these technical proficiencies, the programme also focused on fostering soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, which are crucial for succeeding in professional environments.
The holistic nature of the training ensured that participants left with a well-rounded skill set, boosting both their confidence and career prospects. Testimonials from participants underscore the transformative nature of the programme as many expressed gratitude for the opportunity to develop skills that they believe would set them on a path to success.
The Director of NerdzFactory Foundation, Ade’ Olowojoba, emphasized the broader impact of the programme, stating, “the DigiGap programme is more than just a training initiative, it’s a catalyst for transformation.” He added that the partnership with Access Corporation has been instrumental in not only shaping the futures of the participants but also contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.
By providing young people with the tools, knowledge, and resources to thrive, the DigiGap programme is playing a crucial role in the development of human capital in Nigeria.
As the DigiGap Programme 5.0 concluded, NerdzFactory Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young Nigerians.
